Meet the Artist:

Kimberly Sturrup-Roberts

All of the fabric art designs you'll find at Bahama Dawn Design studios are my creations.

I was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, but relocated to the smaller island of Abaco in 1993. My love of working with colorful fabric began in childhood. My mother, Joann Sturrup, was a master seamstress who guided me in making doll clothes. I soon graduated to adult clothing and then onto complicated quilt designs.

I studied Studio Art and Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic College. Fresh from college I was inspired to work with themes reflecting the vivid beauty of Bahamian sealife and the flora and fauna of this warm tropical climate.

You'll find my work at art shows in Abaco and Nassau, including my own
solo show named, “A Touch of the Bahamas.” My work is also available in galleries
and fine shops throughout the Bahamas and Florida, and it decorates the homes of
people all over the world.

I am also active in the local community here in the town of Marsh Harbour. I serve as Deputy Chair of the Marsh Harbour/Spring City Committee, Deputy Chairman of Hotel Licensing, and as a member of Central Abaco Council.
